18. March 2025
Kick-off with exciting qualifying duels and doubles matches

The Yonex Swiss Open 2025 began today at the St. Jakobshalle Basel. This tournament, which takes place from 18 to 23 March, is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 and attracts numerous top players.
The opening day will be characterised by the qualifying rounds in the singles disciplines and the first round in the men's and women's doubles. The density of performance is particularly impressive in the men's singles: seven players from the world's top 10 and 13 from the top 20 are registered. Athletes outside the top 41 will therefore have to qualify to secure a place in the main draw.
There will be exciting matches for Swiss fans to watch: Olympic participant Tobias Künzi, who is starting with a wild card, will face India's Priyanshu Rajawat, the world number 35. Milena Schnider is also set to make her main draw debut in the St. Jakobshalle and will face China's Luo Yu Wu, currently number 73 in the BWF rankings.
Spectators can look forward to a week full of exciting matches in which the international badminton elite will be putting their skills to the test.
