It’s ready: The top-class badminton menu is ready to be served!

Everything is ready for the YONEX Badminton Swiss Open in Basel. The draw for the qualifying rounds and the first main round in the various disciplines has now been made. It is clear that excitement is guaranteed right from the start. It all starts on Tuesday!
Particularly pleasing from a Swiss perspective is the fact that a number of Swiss Badminton players are also in the main draw. This is an absolute première: In the women's doubles, two Swiss pairs make it into the main draw - without a wild card! However, the task is not an easy one: Lucie Amiguet/Caroline Racloz, currently ranked 83rd in the world, are up against Taiwanese pair Shuo Yun Sung/Chien Hui Yu, who are ranked 13th in the world. Cloé Brand and Julie Franconville, on the other hand, who are ranked 134th in the world, will face the Thai pairing of Laksika Kanlaha/Phataimas Muenwong, who are ranked 7th in the world. Aline Müller will also be playing alongside Kelly van Buiten from the Netherlands in the main draw.
In the men's event, you have to be ranked 41st to get a place in the main draw - or else you get a wildcard. Tobias Künzi is the lucky one. The Swiss player, who is ranked 109th in the world, will play India's Priyashu Rajawat, the world number 35. In the women's draw, Milena Schnider, ranked 135th in the WBF ranking, will play Luo Yu Wu from China, the world number 73. Nicolas Franconville/Minh Quang Pham will try their luck in the men's doubles, followed by Yann Orteu and Caroline Racloz in the mixed.
